Open mainnet will be launched upon the maturity of the enclosed mainnet.

Open Mainnet is Imminent

Pi Network’s open mainnet launch remains one of the most anticipated events in the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) space. As a result, many Pioneers and top influencers have formulated different theories to back their speculations in anticipation of the protocol’s open mainnet launch.

However, according to the Pi Network Whitepaper, open mainnet will be released when KYC has made significant progress in the industry. Further, the phase would happen upon the full maturity of the enclosed mainnet.

“Depending on the maturity of the Enclosed Network economy and the progress of the KYC, this period may begin on Pi Day (March 14, 2022), Pi2 Day (June 28, 2022), or later,” Pi Network wrote about the open mainnet period.

There is a positive on the maturity of the enclosed mainnet economy with numerous protocols building on the network through the ongoing hackathon. However, there are still issues with mass KYC adoption. Judging by the ecosystem development, numerous users, including #PiWhales on Twitter, believe that open mainnet is nearby.

Pi Network Investigator on Twitter also stated that the Pi team would share updates in advance to the Pi Community if open mainnet is near.

The launch date is still unknown, but the protocol’s documentation is a blueprint for its huge milestone. Pi Network’s ecosystem development is also positive for the open mainnet launch, suggesting it is close. In the meantime, the Pi Network team is improving the KYC service to onboard more Pioneers and build one of the largest networks in the crypto space.
