The Pi Community has begun to flood the Pi Chat with suggestions and proposals for the upcoming Hackathon.
Second Official Pi Hackathon
Pi Network announced a second official Hackathon to begin on January 9, 2023. Following three successful university Hackathons in October 2022, The Pi Core team and the Pi Community are ready to kick off the new year.
The Pi Network team sent a message on December 15 to the Pi Community through the Pi App annnouncing the upcoming Hackathon.
The Pi Hackathon is set to attract a variety of interested projects. The community of nearly 38 million members already has a bustling ecosystem of marketplaces, games, and other businesses. The community has plenty of incentive to build and create in preparation of the Open Mainnet.
The team also requested the Pi Community to hit the chat boards and suggest new projects. Interested parties could also pitch proposals in the Pi Chat and upvote proposals they wish to see attempted.
The Pi Community has already begun giving suggestions. Ideas like Pi Social Media, Pi Map, and more. What Pi Network likely needs most is suggestions like the QR Code for transactions. The Pi Community desperately needs more avenues to facilitate transactions as well as a channel to offboard into fiat.
The arrival of this Hackathon comes as the Pi Core Team focuses more on the Open Mainnet arrival and the progression of millions of user KYC verifications.
Pi Network is a mobile blockchain mining project on a mission to give everyone access to the cryptocurrency revolution. The project was founded by a team of Stanford University Ph.D. candidates who designed a mobile-friendly blockchain mining algorithm.
Pi Network has evolved over the years and has organized a hackathon, built a couple of working Pi blockchain apps, and is now in the final stages of transition to public mainnet.
