Pi Day is Almost Here 

From mass KYC adoption to the just concluded Pi Hackathon, there is much positive concerning Pi Network’s development in the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) space. Hence, there is enough reason to celebrate in the upcoming annual Pi day event. 

Pi day celebrates Pi Network’s anniversary every 14th of March. Last year, the mobile mining blockchain platform celebrated the event by rolling out the new mining mechanism and the mass KYC solution. This year, Pioneers are expecting another innovation from the Pi Core team. One thing for sure is that the protocol will release a captivating video to the public on Pi Day 2023. 

The protocol announced a video contest for users to upload their contributions to the Pi Community to get featured in the Pi Day video. Already, Pioneers have started uploading their submissions on Twitter with the hashtag #WhatIDoForPi. 

According to the Pi Network founder, Dr. Nicolas Kokkalis, many programs will be unveiled for Pioneers on the memorable day. However, there are speculations that the team will share details about the Open mainnet launch. 

“With the much-anticipated 'Pi Day'—which celebrates the 4th anniversary of Pi's official launch—happening this March 14, we have some exciting programs in the pipeline that we are eager to introduce to the Pioneers and developers for our decentralized efforts to build the Pi ecosystem," said the Founder and Head of Technology. "At Pi, we're creating things and solving problems in a way that the world hasn't seen before."

Pi Network has disclosed that the Open mainnet will go live when mass KYC adoption and ecosystem development are achieved. The Pi Network hackathon suggests that the protocol is focused on developing its ecosystem. 

Concerning the mass KYC adoption, the team is also trying to ensure that millions of Pioneers verify their identity. As of writing, Pi Network has successfully validated over 3.8 million Pioneers in the industry.
