Successful applicants of the Arbitrum Ambassador Program will join the University Fleet, where they will collaborate on building, learning, and educating.
Arbitrum has announced the official launch of its highly anticipated Ambassador Program. This program enables university-based blockchain clubs and students to build their professional networks, engage with Arbitrum, and contribute to its growth.
The Arbitrum Ambassador Program consists of two phases, each catering to different segments of the blockchain community. Phase 1, which starts on July 13, is dedicated to university-based clubs and students. Successful applicants will join the University Fleet, a collaborative group within the Ambassador Program focused on building, learning, and educating.
There will be a variety of benefits and responsibilities available to participants, as reported. Arbitrum Foundation will encourage them to create content, organize in-person events, and propose initiatives for funding. The program will also provide financial support for hosting events and offer opportunities to represent Arbitrum as an official ambassador both on campus and beyond.
In phase 2, scheduled for Q3 2023, the program will focus on individuals from the broader community, including developers and enthusiasts not affiliated with universities. As part of this phase, Arbitrum will organize regional in-person events, create content, and develop tools for representing the Arbitrum ecosystem. Applicants accepted in Phase 2 will be assigned either to the Community Fleet or Technical Fleet, depending on their interests and expertise.
Arbitrum Ambassadors will have access to industry leaders, work with renowned blockchain protocols, and gain first-hand experience with scaling and layer-2 technologies. Additionally, ambassadors will be able to contribute to research related to technology and community ideas.
Some ambassadors may choose to contribute solely online, while others may focus on organizing in-person events in their local communities. Eligibility and rewards will be assessed case-by-case, tailored to each ambassador's efforts and dedication.
If you are a student or member of a university-based blockchain club interested in representing Arbitrum on your campus, you can apply for Phase 1 of the Arbitrum Ambassador Program here.
It is worth noting that Arbitrum DAO recently voted in favor of AIP-1.1, which requires locking up 700 million ARB tokens in a vesting contract for the project's treasury. It comes amid a period of controversial governance in the Arbitrum ecosystem.
Arbitrum is an Ethereum layer-2 network that allows developers to build and deploy highly scalable smart contracts for a low cost. Arbitrum chain will enable developers to use Web3 apps, deploy smart contracts, etc., but transactions will be cheaper and faster. The flagship product for the team, Arbitrum Rollup, is an Optimistic roll-up protocol that inherits Ethereum-level security.
