Animal Farm to Hold First Governance Vote: PIGS of the World, Unite!

Several Updates to Go Online Dec. 6

Decentralized yield farming platform Animal Farm is set to hold its first community vote among holders of the protocol’s PIGS governance token ($AFP).

The vote will determine how frequently BUSD injections are distributed to users with AFP staked in the platform’s PigPen governance staking pool, according to a Medium post by CEO Forex Shark.

On Thursday, Dec. 8, several updates to Animal Farm’s UI will go live, including dashboard statistics, USD values for tokens and LP pairs, projected earnings, and the Governance Voting System.

Since its launch on Nov. 1, Animal Farm V2 has drawn $87 million in Total Value Locked, according to DefiLlama, making it the 11th biggest Decentralized Finance (DeFi) protocol on BNB Chain.

What is Animal Farm:

Animal Farm is a completely decentralized ownership yield farm/lending protocol in which users are the owners of the network. The protocol is heavily inspired by George Orwell’s renowned satirical novel first released in 1945. The Animal Farm ecosystem has two native tokens, DOGS and PIGS. The former serves as the native farming token of the platform, while the latter is the governance token of the platform. Users can stake PIGS to become an “owner” of the farm. The platform incorporates incentives, taxes and selling restrictions to encourage users to HODL the tokens in the long term.
