US Hits Iranian Radar And Drone Sites
U.S. Central Command carried out self-defense strikes on Iranian radar and drone command sites in Goruk and Qeshm Island after Iran shot down a U.S. MQ-1 Predator drone over international waters.

CENTCOM Strikes Iranian Military Targets Over the Weekend
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) carried out a series of self-defense strikes against Iranian military positions over the weekend, targeting radar installations and drone command-and-control sites in two locations inside Iran.
The U.S. military struck "radar and command and control sites for drones in Goruk, Iran and Qeshm Island," with the operations taking place on Saturday and Sunday in response to what CENTCOM described as "aggressive Iranian actions that included the shootdown of a US MQ-1 drone that was operating over international waters."
U.S. fighter aircraft subsequently targeted Iranian air defenses, a drone ground control station, and two one-way attack drones that the military said posed threats to ships transiting regional waters.
CENTCOM confirmed that no U.S. servicemembers were harmed in the strikes.
Escalation in the Gulf Region
CENTCOM described the strikes as measured and deliberate acts of self-defense. The operation marks a direct kinetic response to the loss of a U.S. surveillance drone and signals a willingness by Washington to act against Iranian military assets perceived as threats to freedom of navigation in the region.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it targeted an air base used in the U.S. attack on the island of Sirik, suggesting the confrontation continued to escalate in the hours after the initial strikes. The incident adds fresh tension to an already volatile situation in the Gulf, where shipping lanes remain a focal point of U.S.-Iran friction.
