Opengradient (@Opengradient) Has Launched $Opg As The Native Token Of Its Blockchain-Based Ai Network, Positioning The Project As What It Describes As The World'S First Verifiable Ai Network.
The launch addresses two of the most persistent criticisms of the AI industry: opacity and centralisation. OpenGradient is building toward a model where inference is decentralised, model hosting is permissionless, and outputs can be verified onchain — removing reliance on any single provider or black-box system.
To handle the computational demands that come with running AI workloads on a blockchain, the team developed what it calls the Hybrid AI Compute Architecture, or HACA. The system works by separating heavy model inference from consensus verification, allowing the network to scale without creating bottlenecks.
$OPG serves as the utility and incentive layer across the network, used to coordinate participants and power activity across the protocol.
