Chainlink Has Completed A Soc 2 Type 2 Examination Conducted By Deloitte, Covering Its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (Ccip) And Data Feeds Products.
Unlike a Type 1 audit, which assesses controls at a single point in time, a SOC 2 Type 2 examination evaluates whether those controls operated effectively over a defined period. The distinction matters to institutional clients, for whom sustained operational reliability is a baseline requirement.
Chainlink now holds both SOC 2 Type 1 and Type 2 certifications, alongside its existing ISO 27001 certification for information security management. Together, these credentials position the network to meet compliance requirements from institutional counterparties across major global markets.
CCIP, Chainlink's cross-chain messaging and token transfer protocol, and its Data Feeds service — widely used across decentralised finance to source real-world price data on-chain — were both in scope for the audit.
The certification adds to a broader push by blockchain infrastructure providers to satisfy the compliance frameworks that traditional financial institutions and regulated entities require before engaging with on-chain systems.
