InterLink New Update Will Integrate Direct Crypto-To-Merchant Payments
InterLink version 5.0.5 introduces direct crypto-to-retail payments for its 9 million users, adding a native gift card module for brands like Apple, Amazon, Starbucks, and Grab, plus WalletConnect Pay and QR scanning via the ITLX wallet.

Version 5.0.5 Brings Retail Payments to the ITLX Wallet
@Inter_link is rolling out version 5.0.5 of its Super App, a release that moves the platform closer to everyday financial utility by enabling direct crypto-to-retail payments for its 9 million global users.
The headline addition is a native gift card module built into the @Itlx_defi wallet. Users will be able to spend $ITL and $ITLG on vouchers for major consumer brands including @Apple, @Amazon, @GrabID, and @Starbucks, turning token balances into immediate purchasing power without leaving the app.
The move removes a friction point that has long slowed crypto adoption at the retail level. Rather than going through traditional off-ramp procedures to convert digital assets into spendable fiat, users can redeem tokens directly against branded gift cards for shopping, gaming, and dining.
WalletConnect Pay and QR Scanning Round Out the Update
Version 5.0.5 also adds two features designed to streamline the day-to-day transaction experience. Integration with @WalletConnect Pay broadens the range of wallets and payment interfaces compatible with the ecosystem, while a high-performance QR image scanning feature speeds up in-person and in-app payments. InterLink's official site already highlights the ability to pay bills or shop with crypto via a single QR scan , and the new scanning upgrade is intended to make that experience faster and more reliable.
The update fits a broader product direction that InterLink has been building toward. InterLink runs a two-token system where $ITLG is the participation and governance token earned by verified users, while $ITL is a reserve asset built for institutional access, external payments, and liquidity. $ITL is the external payment token, built for spendability across shopping, hotels, online services, and exchange listings, and is what brings InterLink's utility to global markets.
The gift card module gives both tokens a practical spending outlet ahead of a broader mainnet launch. InterLink Network has previously rolled out its 5.0 series focused on KYC verification, introducing a Curators system designed to verify user identities and enable the ITLG-to-ITL migration process. The 5.0.5 update builds on that foundation by layering in commerce functionality once identity verification is in place.
