Nearly Half A Billion Dollars Liquidated From The Crypto Market In 24 Hours

The crypto market saw over $415 million in liquidations within a 24-hour window as a sharp short squeeze caught bearish traders off guard.

Short sellers bore the brunt of the damage, accounting for $285 million of total losses. A further $132 million in long positions were also wiped out across more than 100,000 individual accounts.

$BTC was holding at $78,011 at the time of writing, with $ETH at $2,388 and $SOL at $88 in the wake of the volatility spike.
