TON Tech has launched Agentic Wallets, an open, self-custodial infrastructure standard that allows AI agents to manage funds and execute transactions on the TON Blockchain without requiring manual user approval for each action. Users keep full custody of their assets, while agents operate only within a predefined balance and scope assigned by the user.

What Are TON Agentic Wallets?

Agentic Wallets give AI agents their own dedicated on-chain wallets, funded directly by the user with no intermediaries involved. The agent transacts within its assigned limits, and the user can revoke access or withdraw funds at any time.

"Agents on Telegram can not only communicate, but transact, making payments and interacting with on-chain services on behalf of users, without ever touching their keys," said Andrew Grekov, Head of TON Tech.

How Do TON Agentic Wallets Work?

The setup follows three steps:

  • The user asks their agent to create a wallet
  • The user funds it and confirms the setup
  • The agent operates within those defined limits going forward

Separation of Control

The user retains ownership through their main wallet. The agent holds only its allocated balance and cannot access anything beyond that. Multiple agents can run simultaneously, each with isolated wallets and separate spending limits. The system is compatible with existing TON wallets and requires no upgrades or migration.

Why Does This Matter Inside Telegram?

Telegram's existing Bot API already lets agents communicate and coordinate with each other autonomously. Agentic Wallets extend that foundation by adding native financial execution directly inside the chat interface.

In practice, a Telegram-based AI agent can now:

  • Execute payments
  • Manage subscriptions
  • Interact with DeFi protocols
  • Automate trading strategies
  • Coordinate portfolio activity

Hong Kong-based RD Technologies demonstrated a working example. A Telegram agent took a food order using BytePlus language models, invoked OristaPay's payment channel, and settled USDT cross-border on TON without ever leaving the chat thread. RD Technologies CEO Rita described it as "intent-as-a-transaction."

How Does TON's Approach Compare to Other Agent Payment Standards?

Several competing standards have launched recently. Google released Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) with Coinbase and the Ethereum Foundation. Stripe and Tempo launched the Machine Payments Protocol in March. Coinbase pushed x402 into the Linux Foundation in April, with Cloudflare and Visa joining.

Each of those routes agent transactions through existing financial infrastructure. TON and Telegram took a different direction: embedding the payment rail directly inside the chat interface. TON's sub-second finality and near-zero fees make micro-payments and pay-per-inference economically viable at a frequency where card rails break down due to interchange costs.

What Can Developers Build With Agentic Wallets?

The standard supports a defined range of use cases:

  • Trading bots with predefined budgets
  • Automated staking and portfolio agents
  • Subscription payment automation
  • API payment systems
  • Multi-agent workflows

The system is open-source, supports major AI models and agent frameworks, and includes MCP and CLI integrations for workflow management. Developers can implement and manage their own setups without relying on centralized intermediaries or proprietary infrastructure.

Conclusion

TON Agentic Wallets add a permissioned, self-custodial layer that lets AI agents hold balances, execute payments, and interact with onchain applications directly inside Telegram.

The system supports sandboxed multi-agent setups, works with existing TON wallets and major AI frameworks, and requires no wallet migration. For developers, it opens concrete use cases across trading bots, subscription management, DeFi interaction, and multi-agent coordination on TON.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are TON Agentic Wallets?

TON Agentic Wallets are dedicated on-chain wallets assigned to AI agents, allowing them to send transactions on the TON Blockchain within user-defined limits without requiring approval for each individual action.

Are TON Agentic Wallets self-custodial?

Yes. Users maintain full ownership of their assets. Agents can only access funds specifically allocated to them, and that access can be revoked at any time.

Do developers need to upgrade existing TON wallets to use Agentic Wallets?

No. The standard is compatible with existing TON wallets and requires no upgrades or migration to existing infrastructure.
