Solana Co-Founder Anatoly Yakovenko said what the blockchain ecosystem needs is "20 more unicorns so ambitious that Solana can't contain them."
The news that the two biggest NFT projects on Solana are moving to Ethereum and Polygon has sparked much discussion among the blockchain’s community, even sparking a response from Solana Co-Founder Anatoly Yakovenko.
Many Solana loyalists have been highly critical of the decision by the developers of DeGods and y00ts to bridge their Non-Fungible Token (NFT) projects to other chains, while others have attempted to be dismissive of the importance of the projects to the Solana ecosystem.
Yakovenko, though, struck a more thoughtful position on his “bittersweet” feelings about seeing popular Solana projects––such as DeGods, Phantom and Magic Eden––achieve great success and then seek to grow on other blockchains as well.
The Co-Founder said: “What @solana needs is twenty more unicorns that are so ambitious that @solana can’t contain them.”
He added, “Fwiw, I don’t think the breakout hit will come from a multi chain strategy.”
