MegaETH's Token Generation Event (TGE) is officially scheduled for April 30, 2026, triggered after the project hit its first on-chain milestone: 10 live Mega Mafia applications deployed on mainnet.

What Triggered The TGE Countdown?

MegaETH launched on mainnet in February without a fixed token launch date. Instead, the team tied the release of its MEGA token to three performance-based KPIs. Only one needed to be met to start a seven-day countdown.

The three conditions were:

• A $500 million circulating supply of USDM, with at least 25% deposited into smart contracts
• 10 deployed Mega Mafia apps with verified contracts and functioning core loops
• Three apps generating $50,000 in daily fees for 30 consecutive days

KPI-2, the 10 deployed apps requirement, is the one that was met. All 10 Mega Mafia applications are now fully live on mainnet. These include stablecoin payments protocol Cap, DEX Kumbaya, onchain game Showdown, lending market Avon, decentralized telecom protocol Ubitel, World, Stomp, HitOne, Nectar AI, and yield tokenization platform Brix. Each app was also required to demonstrate over 100,000 total transactions within a 30-day period.

The other two KPIs remain unmet. USDM circulation currently sits at $62.9 million, roughly 13% of the $500 million target. The daily fees KPI is also untriggered.

What Does The Polymarket Data Show?

Prediction market Polymarket's contract for a MegaETH token launch by April 30 has moved sharply. It sits at 97% YES, up from 19% just 24 hours before the official announcement. A week prior it was at 60%. Contracts for June 30 and September 30 both remain at 100% YES.

The April 30 market saw $17,427 in USDC traded in the last day. Liquidity is thin, with just $1,301 needed to shift odds by five points, meaning single orders can move prices noticeably. The largest move in the last 24 hours was a four-point drop at 4:41 PM, likely driven by speculative activity ahead of the official confirmation.

At 97 cents per YES share, there is minimal return left for new buyers. The pricing reflects near-certainty, not opportunity.

MEGA Tokenomics And Unlock Schedule

MEGA has a fixed total supply of 10 billion tokens. Here is how the allocation breaks down:

• 53.3% released over time as staking rewards tied to four KPI goals
• 14.7% allocated to early investors
• 9.5% vesting for team and advisors
• 7.5% for ecosystem and foundation reserve
• 5% offered via public Sonar-based token auction

Unlock terms differ by cohort. Echo round investors receive 20% at TGE, followed by a one-year cliff and a three-year vest. Fluffle NFT holders unlock 50% at TGE, with the remainder on a six-month linear vest. Sonar participants either unlock fully at TGE or take a one-year lock in exchange for a discount.

The October Sonar auction drew $1.39 billion in commitments for a $50 million allocation, making it one of the most oversubscribed token sales of this cycle.

How Will MEGA Be Used?

Once live, MEGA functions as the bidding currency in MegaETH's proximity markets. Market makers and applications pay in MEGA to colocate near the sequencer, gaining sub-millisecond latency access. The MegaETH Foundation has also committed to using USDM yield to buy back MEGA tokens on an ongoing basis.

MEGA premarket perpetuals on Hyperliquid have been trading in the $1.5 billion to $2 billion implied valuation range, well below the pre-launch peak above $6 billion recorded last October.

The project has backing from Vitalik Buterin and raised $450 million in VC funding, with investors including Anagram, GSR, Kraken Ventures, Maven11, Robot Ventures, and Wintermute.
