The lawsuit claims that Coffeezilla made false statements about Paul’s involvement in the CryptoZoo NFT project, labeling it a scam.
Influencer Logan Paul has filed a defamation lawsuit against Stephen Findeisen, known as CoffeeZilla on YouTube. The lawsuit claims that Findeisen made false statements about Paul’s involvement in the CryptoZoo NFT project.
On June 27, 2024, Paul filed the lawsuit in the San Antonio, Texas District Court. The document accuses Findeisen of repeatedly publishing false statements, labeling Paul as the mastermind behind a scam. CoffeeZilla’s videos have called CryptoZoo a “scam” and a “con,” directly implicating Paul in these allegations.
The lawsuit begins with a strong statement:
“Plaintiff Logan Paul, a globally recognized entertainer, athlete, and entrepreneur, brings this defamation action against Defendant Stephen Findeisen, a/k/a ‘CoffeeZilla’—a self-described investigative journalist and ‘internet detective’ with no actual journalism training or a private investigator’s license—to hold him accountable for maliciously and repeatedly publishing false statements accusing Paul of operating a scam in connection with a troubled blockchain project called CryptoZoo.”
Paul argues that CoffeeZilla omitted crucial information that would have shown his genuine intent to develop a legitimate blockchain game.
He blames the failure of CryptoZoo on advisors Eduardo “Eddie” Ibanez and Jake Greenbaum. Paul claims these advisors deceived him, leading to the project’s downfall.
In the lawsuit, Paul mentions that he considered legal action when the initial CryptoZoo videos were released but chose to focus on a $1.5 million recovery plan for the project instead. He invested $1 million to repurchase NFTs from the project, demonstrating his commitment to making things right.
The lawsuit demands compensatory damages exceeding $75,000, plus interest and attorney fees. Paul claims these losses are due to the reputational damage caused by CoffeeZilla’s videos. He asserts that Findeisen’s actions have led to significant financial and personal harm.
Aside from his involvement in the cryptocurrency world, Logan Paul is an accomplished wrestler. He is currently feuding with LA Knight in WWE. Known as The Maverick, Paul is one of the top talents on the wrestling roster.
