Ice Open Network (ION) has shared multiple updates on its X account in the last seven days, covering advancements in its Online+ platform, community interactions, and responses to external discussions in the cryptocurrency sector.
The protocol recently continued its "Online+ Unpacked" blog series, sharing information about how profiles work as a wallet on the Decentralized Application (dApp). The blog explained the integration of user profiles with on-chain wallets in Online+.
The system generates a cryptographic key pair during sign-up, embedding the wallet directly into the profile, allowing users to perform actions such as posting content, sending tips, and transferring tokens without needing separate applications. All data, including identity and interactions, is recorded on the blockchain, enabling users to own their content and rewards.
While the blog series was informative as expected, the major update came on July 28 with the Beta Bulletin, as Online+ edges closer to public launch. For context, the core team today has announced early access registration for users, paving the way for the public launch.
In-Depth Look at the Online+ Beta Bulletin
ION’s latest Online+ Bulletin covers activities from July 21 to 27, 2025. The blog detailed feature additions, updates, and fixes as the platform approaches public release.
The blog described an intensive week of fixes and upgrades aimed at ensuring compatibility across devices and regions. Emphasis was placed on the Feed, the central component where users interact on a daily basis.
ION Product lead, Yuliia, noted: "Most of the attention last week went to the Feed — the heart of the experience — where users land, engage, and return daily. We’ve been fine-tuning how posts render, how videos behave, and how notifications are triggered and resolved."
A significant infrastructure upgrade was prepared for beta testers, with plans to extend access to partners and creators by the end of the week. This marks the first expansion beyond internal teams and testers.
Key feature updates included:
- In the Wallet section: Addition of a "Receive NFT" interface for accounts with existing non-fungible tokens (NFTs), pinning the search field in coin lists, and rounding coin values for display.
- In Chat: Settings to control incoming messages, visibility of shared Stories beyond 24 hours, and push notifications for IONPay transactions.
- In Feed: Automatic relay fallback for network issues, improved tappable elements, a 60-second limit on story recordings, prevention of persistent loading indicators, and optimized background requests to reduce battery usage.
- In Profile: Updated UI for IONPay notifications.
- General: Fallback for foreground push notifications, compression tags, and reworked media caching to lower storage needs.
Bug fixes addressed various issues, such as:
- Wallet: Transitions in bottom sheets, infinite loading in payment requests, NFT removal after sending, and consistent naming for Wrapped TON and Toncoin.
- Chat: USD displays in payments, modal visuals, media uploads, message delivery, previews in edits, end-to-end (E2E) decoding, and keyboard behavior in replies.
- Feed: Padding in carousels and media, font colors in modals, copy on error pages, subcategory labels, Android formatting, WebP media support, video controls in articles, notification delays, staging environment videos, slider margins, story ratios and loading, like limits, preview playback, menu functionality, autoplay issues, search accuracy, URL detection, bookmark options, and shared post displays.
- Profile: Deep link functionality to user profiles.
According to Yuliia, “the past week was all about making sure the pieces not only fit, but function perfectly together. We introduced a major infrastructure upgrade behind the scenes, and that meant a full round of regression testing across the app, making sure the full system still works exactly as it should."
In the meantime, the team will continue polishing the Feed, which is the heart of the app. As stated above, early access for creators and partners is planned for the end of the week, followed by onboarding for the waitlist.
Online+ Launch Is Closer Than Ever?
The Online+ platform is approaching its public release, with recent updates indicating progress toward broader availability. The latest beta bulletin outlined plans to distribute an infrastructure upgrade to beta testers this week. This upgrade supports the rollout of early access to creators and partners by the end of the week, marking a step before full public launch. Following early access, the next phase involves onboarding users from the waitlist.
Founder Zeus of ICE Blockchain reinforced this timeline in a post on X: "The Online+ public launch is just around the corner! At the end of the week, we are making the public version available for Creators and Partners. The moment Online+ goes live, you will find your favorite content from your loved creators."
Zeus’ statement aligns with the bulletin's schedule, emphasizing the importance of content preparation by creators to enhance the user experience upon launch. These developments build on ION's decentralized framework, where blockchain technology enables secure, on-chain interactions.
In the meantime, the early access for the public is live, with the team about to close registrations.

With the infrastructure now in testing, ION positions Online+ as a social media dApp that integrates wallet functions directly into profiles, allowing seamless token transfers and content ownership. This launch phase represents a key milestone in ION's development.
Conclusion
Online+ currently provides an integrated system where user profiles serve as on-chain wallets, generated via cryptographic key pairs during signup. This enables the recording of all interactions, including posts and token transfers, on the blockchain, ensuring ownership of content and rewards.
The platform supports features such as 60-second video stories in the Feed, push notifications for IONPay in Chat, and controls for message senders. Wallet capabilities include NFT reception interfaces, pinned coin searches, and value rounding. General updates feature media cache optimizations to reduce storage and battery usage.
Latest bug fixes enhance reliability, addressing issues such as infinite loading in payments, chat errors, and video autoplay problems in the Feed. Profile deep links and notification fallbacks ensure consistent access across devices.
Looking ahead, Infrastructure upgrades are prepared for expanded access, starting with creators and partners, followed by waitlist users. Overall, the product promises to deliver a social media experience with embedded blockchain elements.
