V Attempts to Clear Up ‘Misunderstandings’

BNB Chain Chief Scientist V took to Twitter to address “common misunderstandings (again)” about how the blockchain functions, including “breathe blocks” and cross-chain transfer history between Beacon and Smart Chains.

In two Twitter threads posted Jan. 6 and 7, V explains:

• BNB Beacon Chain and Smart Chain are open source
• Entities become validators on the chains by staking BNB coin
• Transaction history between Beacon Chain and Smart Chain can be observed by code
• There are no manual or daily restarts of BNB Chain -- although some people are confused by special blocks called Beacon Chain called “breathe blocks.”

V admitted that the confusion could have been stoked by unsatisfactory documentation and communication from and about BNB Chain.

“The FUDs prove one thing: the docs, infra, and Dev Rel of BNB have a long way to go. The team should correct these in 2023, with the help of new initiatives,” V said.
