XRP Wallet Growth Spikes Again

The XRP Ledger added 4,300 new wallets in 24 hours on May 21, marking its fourth largest daily growth surge of 2026, according to Santiment. Here is what the data means for XRP network momentum.

XRP Wallet Growth Spikes Again

The XRP Ledger recorded a notable spike in new wallet creation on May 21, adding 4,300 wallets within a single 24-hour window. According to on-chain analytics firm Santiment, the reading marks the fourth largest daily network growth surge recorded on the ledger so far in 2026.

What the On-Chain Data Shows

Santiment tracks new wallet creation as a measure of fresh participation entering a network. A sharp increase can reflect new users, renewed speculation, exchange-related wallet activity, app onboarding, or fresh participants preparing to transact. The metric does not confirm a price reversal on its own, but it can indicate that network activity is broadening before any price move is fully visible on the chart.

XRP's network growth has generally trended lower since late 2025, which makes the single-day jump stand out. Whether it represents the early stages of a broader rotation into $XRP or a short-lived speculative burst remains an open question for traders watching the asset.

Broader Accumulation Picture

The wallet creation spike sits alongside a longer-term accumulation trend on the ledger. Data from Santiment shows the number of XRP Ledger wallets holding at least 10,000 XRP has climbed to a record 332,230, extending a growth trend in place since June 2024. Santiment has noted that rising numbers of mid-to-large wallets historically suggest increasing conviction from holders focused on longer-term positioning rather than short-term price swings.

On the capital flows side, XRP-linked investment products attracted roughly $42 million in net inflows over the past week, a run that has drawn analyst attention given that money has been leaving the largest listed crypto products at the same time.

Despite the positive on-chain signals, XRP has faced short-term price pressure. The token remains down more than 6% over seven days, leaving the new-wallet spike in contrast with a still-cautious near-term chart. Analysts will be watching whether participation holds above recent levels as the clearest test of whether the latest data reflects durable demand or a temporary burst of activity.
