Strategy Fortifies Balance Sheet With $525M USD Reserve Increase
Strategy boosted its USD reserve by $525 million to $3.75 billion, extending preferred stock dividend coverage to 2.1 years while holding 843,775 Bitcoin on its balance sheet.
@Strategy has raised its U.S. dollar cash reserve by $525 million, bringing the total to $3.75 billion as the firm continues to prioritise liquidity and long-term financial stability alongside its vast $BTC holdings.
Reserve Growth Funded by Equity Sales
Strategy last week boosted its USD Reserve by $525 million to $3.75 billion, a level that Michael Saylor says represents 2.1 years of preferred stock dividend coverage. The company raised $544.5 million via sales of more than 5.4 million shares of common stock, according to an SEC filing. A small portion of that fresh capital, $25 million, was used to repurchase 288,930 shares of its high-yielding STRC preferred stock.
The reserve build follows a consistent pattern across recent weeks. Strategy had previously increased its U.S. dollar reserve to $3 billion through its at-the-market equity program, maintaining the reserve to support dividend payments on its preferred stock and interest payments on its outstanding debt. The board has established a policy of maintaining a minimum USD Reserve equal to at least 12 months of current expected annual preferred stock dividend payments and interest expense.
Bitcoin Treasury Remains Intact at 843,775 BTC
Strategy made no bitcoin purchases or sales in its most recent weekly period, leaving its holdings unchanged at 843,775 $BTC. The company acquired its bitcoin for an aggregate purchase price of approximately $63.69 billion, at an average price of $75,476 per coin.
The company carries about $1.76 billion in annual obligations between preferred stock dividends and debt interest, meaning that without a sufficient cash cushion, any prolonged Bitcoin downturn could force asset sales at the worst possible time. The growing reserve is designed to insulate the firm from that scenario while it maintains what is widely regarded as the largest corporate Bitcoin treasury in the world.
Strategy's Digital Credit Capital Framework strengthens credit quality and enhances liquidity buffers, providing tools to navigate market volatility without forced asset sales. The latest reserve increase is part of a broader series of capital market actions the firm has executed through the 2026 fiscal cycle to reinforce its balance sheet structure.
