RLUSD Has Absolutely Soared to a New All-Time High.
Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin has hit a new all-time high supply of $1.74 billion, making it the world's 8th largest stablecoin and the 42nd largest crypto asset overall.

@Ripple's $RLUSD stablecoin has reached a new all-time high circulating supply of $1.74 billion, adding another milestone to what has been a rapid ascent since the token's December 2024 launch.
From Launch to the Top 10
Launched in December 2024, $RLUSD is pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar and backed by cash, cash equivalents, and short-term U.S. Treasuries. The token is issued by Standard Custody and Trust Company, a wholly owned Ripple subsidiary, under New York Department of Financial Services supervision. The stablecoin has grown quickly from there. Officially launched in December 2024, $RLUSD achieved a remarkable 1,278% year-to-date growth in market capitalization, surpassing the $1 billion mark less than a year after launch.
As of May 20, the market capitalization for $RLUSD sat at over $1.65 billion, marking an increase of about 3% over the prior 24 hours. The latest figures cited by @BSCNews push that supply figure to $1.74 billion, a fresh record. The token now ranks as the world's 42nd largest crypto asset and the 8th largest stablecoin globally, sitting ahead of @trondao's @usddio $USDD and closing in on @Aster_DEX's $ASTER token by overall market cap.
Institutional Demand Drives Growth
Ripple continues positioning $RLUSD as a regulated, enterprise-grade stablecoin focused on payments, liquidity management, and settlement infrastructure, a strategy that aligns closely with institutional demand for compliant digital dollar products. $RLUSD is natively issued on both the XRP Ledger and Ethereum blockchains and is fully backed by a segregated reserve of cash and cash equivalents, redeemable 1:1 for U.S. dollars.
Ripple confirmed $RLUSD is being used as a settlement asset for BlackRock's USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL), via Ripple's partnership with tokenization platform Securitize. On the exchange side, the OKX listing put $RLUSD on a top-tier global exchange with over 280 pairs embedded in OKX's Unified Order Book from day one. Binance listed $RLUSD on Ethereum, with XRP Ledger support added shortly after, and Kraken, Bitstamp, Bybit, and Bitget have all added the token.
The stablecoin also benefits from improving U.S. regulatory sentiment toward crypto infrastructure in 2026, with recent developments surrounding stablecoin legislation strengthening confidence in compliant issuers. With $2 billion in supply now within reach, the Ripple ecosystem appears to be building toward a stronger position in the broader regulated stablecoin market as the year progresses.
