OKX Integrates Chainlink To Unlock $80 Trillion RWA Opportunity On X Layer

X Layer Joins Chainlink Scale to Power RWA Infrastructure

@OKX has formally integrated @Chainlink into its @XLayerOfficial network, joining the Chainlink Scale program and adopting the Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as its canonical cross-chain infrastructure. The move positions X Layer as a dedicated hub for real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, targeting what proponents describe as an estimated $80 trillion opportunity in global tokenized markets.

By integrating Chainlink's oracle network, X Layer developers now gain direct access to high-quality, tamper-proof market data, the same data infrastructure trusted by roughly 70% of Web3 projects to power secure DeFi, trading, and automation. Through the Chainlink Scale program, X Layer covers oracle and cross-chain service costs, allowing developers to access Chainlink's premium data feeds and cross-chain tools at minimal or no cost.

X Layer will use Chainlink CCIP to enable seamless data transfers across major blockchain networks, while also giving DeFi applications access to real off-chain data from banks and other major institutions. With X Layer's 5,000 TPS performance and near-zero gas costs, now enhanced by Chainlink's comprehensive oracle platform, developers have a high-performance base on which to build.

Bridging Traditional Finance and the On-Chain Economy

The integration is part of a broader strategy by OKX to establish X Layer as a serious destination for institutional capital. OKX has made the strategic decision to build X Layer into a leading public network with a dedicated focus on DeFi, payments, and real-world asset applications.

Chainlink already plays a significant role in connecting traditional finance and on-chain infrastructure. The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) publishes fund data on-chain via Chainlink, while UBS and Swift use it for tokenized fund workflows. Chainlink is the most widely adopted oracle network in the blockchain ecosystem, having enabled over $28 trillion in transaction value and securing the majority of DeFi and institutional on-chain workflows.

The collaboration also opens the door for developers to build decentralized applications that bridge legacy financial systems with what OKX describes as the emerging AI Agent Economy on @XLayerOfficial. The Chainlink stack provides the essential data, interoperability, compliance, and privacy standards needed to power advanced blockchain use cases for institutional tokenized assets, lending, payments, stablecoins, and more.

The $80 trillion figure referenced by OKX relates to Chainlink's own framing of the addressable market for on-chain equities and tokenized assets. Chainlink's 24/5 Equities Streams product is designed to unlock on-chain access to the approximately $80 trillion U.S. stock market by providing fast, secure stock and ETF market data.
