Lite Strategy Invests Big In Litecoin Layer 2 Platform
Lite Strategy has executed a $1M lead investment in LitecoinVM (LitVM), the first zero-knowledge Layer 2 built for the Litecoin network, at a $50M post-money valuation with a 2% token warrant.

A $1M Bet on Litecoin's Programmable Future
@LiteStrategy has completed a $1 million lead investment in @LitecoinVM (LitVM), the first zero-knowledge (ZK) Layer 2 purpose-built for the $LTC network. The deal is structured as a SAFE at a $50 million post-money valuation and includes a 2% token warrant, giving @LiteStrategy direct exposure to LitVM's native token upside alongside its equity position.
The investment formally brings smart contracts, decentralized finance (DeFi), and Real-World Asset (RWA) tokenization to the Litecoin ecosystem for the first time. In exchange, @LiteStrategy secures governance rights and a seat on LitVM's Strategic Advisory Committee, positioning the firm as a hands-on institutional partner as LitVM prepares for its mainnet launch.
@LiteStrategy, formerly MEI Pharma, became the first U.S.-listed public company to adopt Litecoin as its primary treasury reserve asset, raising $100 million and pivoting entirely from pharmaceuticals to crypto, including changing its Nasdaq ticker from MEIP to LITS. The LitVM investment is a natural extension of that thesis: rather than simply holding $LTC, the firm is now backing the infrastructure designed to expand what the network can do.
What LitVM Brings to Litecoin
LitVM is Litecoin's first official EVM-compatible ZK Layer 2, bringing smart contracts, DeFi functionality, and real-world asset tokenization to a blockchain that previously had none of those things. The architecture leans on Arbitrum Orbit and Espresso sequencing, two technologies that have already proven themselves in the Ethereum Layer 2 ecosystem.
The project runs on a dual-token structure: $LITVM serves as the governance and utility token, while zkLTC is a trustlessly bridged version of LTC that functions as the native gas token. 51% of the $LITVM supply is reserved for the community, with a specific focus on existing LTC holders.
The Litecoin Foundation's backing of LitVM provides institutional credibility that independent Layer 2 projects often lack. The testnet, called LiteForge, has already seen strong engagement with over 230,000 transactions and 41,000 unique wallets. For @LiteStrategy, which holds a substantial $LTC treasury, expanding the network's utility through infrastructure investment is a direct way to strengthen the long-term value of its core reserve asset.
