Solana Memecoin EPIK Soars 1000% In One Day

TEH EPIK DUCK ($EPIK), a Solana-based memecoin, surged more than 1,000% in a single 24-hour window and approximately 2,700% over the past seven days, according to CoinGecko data cited by @BSCNews.

The token hit an all-time high of $0.05937 during the rally before pulling back sharply, shedding more than 78% from that peak. At the time of writing, its market capitalisation stands near $11.8 million.

From Roblox Joke to Solana Token

The coin takes its name and identity from one of gaming's more obscure internet artefacts. The Epic Duck was a limited item introduced by Roblox on April 1, 2009, as part of an April Fools' Day event, during which duck figures rained across in-game environments. The character quickly became a well-known meme within the Roblox community, spawning games, clothing items, and badges. Roblox even added "TEH EPIK DUCK IS COMING!!!" as an official quick-chat option.

The meme found renewed reach on social media in 2021 and 2022, when self-replicating tweets referencing the duck trended on Twitter, according to Know Your Meme. That broader cultural footprint appears to underpin much of the token's narrative appeal.

The coin was launched via Pumpfun, the Solana-based platform that allows anyone to create and deploy a memecoin in a matter of seconds without writing code. According to the Pumpfun description, traders have since launched multiple derivative coins around the same meme, leaving the community split between competing versions of the token.

Proceed With Caution

Rapid, triple-digit gains in memecoin markets are rarely sustained. The EPIK chart already illustrates that dynamic clearly: a 78% drawdown from the all-time high followed within the same trading session as the peak. Little verifiable information exists about the project's team, roadmap, or underlying utility.

Traders considering exposure to $EPIK or similar assets should be aware that memecoins of this nature carry substantial risk of total loss. The token's price action is driven almost entirely by sentiment and momentum rather than fundamentals.
