Core Pivots To Revenue And Buybacks In 2026 Btcfi Roadmap

Core DAO's 2026 roadmap targets a single goal: channel revenue from its BTCFi ecosystem directly into $CORE token buybacks, moving away from inflation-funded emissions toward sustainable value accrual.

Core Pivots To Revenue And Buybacks In 2026 Btcfi Roadmap

@Coredao_Org has published its 2026 revenue roadmap, and the message is direct: every part of the plan feeds into one outcome. Every part of the 2026 roadmap serves one objective — Bitcoin activity must generate revenue, and that revenue must drive $CORE buybacks.

The move marks a deliberate shift in strategy. The Core Foundation emphasises that the key change in 2026 is from "displaying returns" to "monetising returns," reducing reliance on token inflation while driving $CORE to become the core value-carrying asset in the BTCFi growth cycle.

A Multi-Module Flywheel

The roadmap revolves around the BTCFi ecosystem, systematically transforming Bitcoin activity into sustainable revenue through modules such as Bitcoin staking yields, Asset Management Protocols (AMP), BTC LSTs, Dual Staking markets, SatPay, ETFs/ETPs, DAT, and enterprise-level solutions, with revenue continuously flowing back to $CORE buybacks.

Each module is designed to reinforce the others. SatPay, the consumer-facing Bitcoin neobank, becomes an entry point that drives $CORE usage, staking, gas consumption, and recurring buyback pressure while bringing accessible Core-powered Bitcoin finance to a broad user base. Meanwhile, Asset Management Protocols offer the simplest way to package $CORE and Bitcoin yield offerings — users deposit $CORE, $BTC, or both, and the AMP allocates that capital across transparent yield strategies with the goal of delivering competitive returns that generate fee revenue and, ultimately, $CORE buybacks.

On the infrastructure side, the Hermes Upgrade delivered a major speed improvement for Core, and the next series of upgrades in 2026 will take performance further — Core is on track to reach sub-second block-time finality, creating an experience comparable to the fastest high-throughput chains. Real-world assets are also part of the picture: RWAs are expanding on Core, with the network already hosting on-chain property and early demonstrations of how real-world assets will function within Bitcoin finance.

From Yield Provider to Value-Accrual Network

Core contributor Rich Rines framed the broader ambition clearly. "A big push for Core in 2026, as we look beyond being just a yield service provider, is liquid staking tokens and the formation of a neobank," Rines said. "We'll also be performing $CORE buybacks, which is the best way to share those benefits directly with token holders."

The network's security credentials underpin the bet. With Core now secured by 90% of $BTC's hashrate through its Satoshi Plus consensus mechanism, the strategy aims to build a resilient flywheel: more yield attracts capital, revenue funds buybacks, and demand strengthens the token.

The broader thesis is that BTCFi is maturing past the proof-of-concept stage. Core's 2026 roadmap seeks to align the network with the broader maturation of BTCFi, meeting institutions and retail users where they are — whether through neobanks, LST-backed products, or enterprise yield solutions.
