Xrp Trades On Whatsapp Via Solana As Yakovenko Boosts Viral Demo
XRP is now tradeable through WhatsApp after a viral demo circulating on Sunday showed a user swapping 0.1 $SOL for 5.99 wXRP using a simple chat command. The trade was executed through solanaclawagent, an AI bot linked to a non-custodial wallet that reads plain-text instructions and routes orders through Solana DEX aggregators.
Solana Labs co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko (@toly) amplified the demo with a "🤯🤯🤯" post, transforming what appeared to be a product experiment into a broader conversation about messaging-based crypto access. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse added to the momentum, writing: "Demand for $XRP keeps growing. More access, more ecosystems, more utility."
The demo builds on infrastructure put in place just days earlier. On April 17, wXRP launched on Solana through a bridge developed with LayerZero and Hex Trust. As an SPL token, wXRP is compatible with a range of Solana-based protocols, including Raydium and Orca for trading, Kamino and Marginfi for lending, and Backpack for custody.
Separately, OKX and BitMEX both posted cryptic "XRP" messages on Sunday, though neither elaborated on what, if anything, is planned.
