Thus begins an all-new series for leading project, DEGA - Dive into its novel approach to the blockchain x AI sector...

INTRODUCTION

This is the first in a series of articles that’ll describe the DEGA AI Nodes which stand at the core of the infrastructure required for delivering the DEGA Realms builder, DeFi automation via chat, and the Social Simulation gameplay of the Da Degens game.

Just like every application is “internet powered”, in the future, all systems will be “AI powered”.

THE ORIGIN

DEGA’s foray into AI started with the vision for a social simulation gameplay within the DEGA Realms ecosystem. We took inspiration from games like The Sims but instead of doing boring things like washing the dishes and cleaning the house our AI powered NPCs are degening on-chain. Hence the name “Da Degens”. In a few weeks we took the time to create a proof of concept that allows multiple AI powered NPC characters (agents) to share and debate information regarding token pricing and yield farming. This information was extracted directly from sources like Coinmarketcap and Venus Protocol.

You can find out more about Da Degens and see the proof of concept in the following video:

THE PROBLEM

Interacting with blockchain systems remains a challenge even for developers let alone end users. By creating a layer of pre-built components and workflows that can be accessed through AI agents we bring down the barrier to access. Even more so when we enable agent to agent communication and payments. This unleashes AI to become a truly autonomous ecology of intelligence.

In the diagram of Figure 1 you can see a very high-level solutions architecture that involves:

  1. Clients: a chat UI, a game or any third party system can access the AI Nodes via their Restful API or websocket interface.
  2. AI Node: the core AI component that has all the modules needed for processing text, images, and other data formats from the clients and executing the necessary workflows to satisfy the request.
  3. Integrations: these can be blockchains, databases, and third-party APIs that can be called from the AI Node’s workflows.

This is a very high-level and abstract description of the DEGA AI Infrastructure at work which shows the flow of data interactions between components.

USE CASES

At DEGA we’ll focus our efforts into channeling this technology to allow for rapid game development and DeFi automation but it can be extended as a general purpose platform for any type of system that can benefit from collaborative autonomous agents and automations.

Some example use cases include:

  1. AI game developers that are capable of generating new games in minutes.
  2. DeFi assistants that can onboard new users to Web3 and even perform operations on their behalf.
  3. AI blockchain developer capable of deploying smart contracts and web apps to interact with them.
  4. Data retrieval and analysis of on-chain and off-chain data through a conversational interface.
  5. AI security auditors capable of detecting vulnerabilities in systems and reporting them to the developers.
  6. Workflow generator that generates new automations for users with a simple text prompt.
  7. Automate industry research and analysis.

These are just a few examples of what AI makes possible for the blockchain industry. In truth the applications are limited only by the imagination.

The DEGA team will continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible and we’ll share our progress as we develop the DEGA AI Node network.
