The lead developer of Shiba Inu and partner developer of Shibarium said the public beta launch of the memcoin's layer-two blockchain is "soon."
Following the launch of the Shiba Eternity game, the Ethereum-based memecoin’s community is clamoring for news about the highly anticipated layer-two blockchain Shibarium that has been in development for the past year.
Recently, Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama has dropped hints about the impending launch of Shibarium.
On Nov. 1, Shytoshi tweeted that the planned order of development had always been to launch Shiba Eternity, then launch Shibarium, then put Shiba Eternity on Shibarium.
Kusama followed up with a Medium post on Nov. 3 primarily about Shiba Eternity, but concluded by stating the Beta launch of Shibarium is coming soon.
“I will now shift my focus to advertising the game, the blockchain version and Shibarium with Kaal as we are quickly approaching the Beta launch,” Shytoshi wrote.
Shibarium partner developers Unification wrote a Medium post of their own about work on the Beta launch of the chain, saying, “The Wen is soon.”
They wrote, “The internal alpha continues to be optimized daily to be ready to fulfill the requirements and the sheer scale of the audience waiting for it. As a result the core team has been moving fast and furiously with our advisory and is close to a public beta release.”
On Nov. 5, the official Shiba account tweeted that it is following the Shibarium blockchain account on Twitter.
The Shibarium network is anticipated to become the home for the Shiba ecosystem, with transactions paid for by gas fees in Shiba’s BONE governance token.
Shiba Inu is an Ethereum-based altcoin with the Shiba Inu—a Japanese breed of hunting dog—as its mascot. The SHIB token aspires to be an Ethereum-based alternative to Dogecoin (DOGE). Unlike Bitcoin, which is designed to be scarce, SHIB was created to be intentionally abundant — with a total supply of one quadrillion. The Shiba Inu Token ecosystem supports projects such as an NFT art incubator and the development of a decentralized exchange called Shibaswap.
