Pi Network will release a special Pi Hackathon video for Pioneers, showcasing the selected winners based on brainstorm reviews and utilities.
Numerous developers have participated in the Pi Hackathon, which commenced in January and ended on March 5. The mobile mining network recorded over 360 project submissions with various use cases, including gaming, news, finance, and social media.
Pi Network launched the Hackathon to encourage the community to create applications with innovative utilities while contributing to the ecosystem's growth. Following the completion, Pioneers were invited by the platform to review project submissions via the Brainstorm portal in the Pi Browser application.
The submitted applications will soon be available on the Pi Network Testnet ecosystem for Pioneers to explore their functions before the winners are announced. However, according to Pi Network's announcement, it will not be a complete list of all Hackathon submissions. Further, the core team urged users to test the applications with fewer expectations, considering they are still in the test stage.
“The list that will soon be available in the Testnet Ecosystem will not be a complete list of all submissions in the hackathon, nor are they fully vetted. Given that many of them are from hackathons, please explore with the expectation that they may have missing functionalities or scalability issues,” Pi Network wrote.
On when the winners would be announced, Pi Network stated that there would be a special Hackathon video showcasing the successful app submissions. Meanwhile, Pioneers must continue sharing their thoughts about projects that suit their interests via the brainstorm portal.
“The winners of the Hackathon will be announced in a different dedicated announcement after Pi Day and after incorporating Pioneers' input via the Brainstorm app. We’ll be also showcasing the Hackathon winning apps in a special Hackathon video,” the team’s Pi Day announcement read.
Pi Network is a mobile mining blockchain with an application that lets people earn Pi coins by doing simple tasks on their phones. However, the project remains in its development stage with delivery of an open mainnet still a matter of speculation, with no launch date confirmed.
With this in mind, the protocol remains in its testnet stage and will apparently go live when many users (Pioneers) complete the mandatory KYC procedure while the core team works on developing its ecosystem.
Pi Network is also reported to be under investigation by authorities in Vietnam and users should exercise a high degree of caution when interacting with the project and ensure they have conducted sufficient research before doing so.
