Kaspa has had a busy start of 2025 and its Crescendo hardfork launch is on the horizon. Here's an update for this exciting L1 and its roadmap plans...
Kaspa is making headway with its development inside the blockchain space. The Proof-of-Work (PoW) L1 protocol has provided additional information concerning its expansive Crescendo Hardfork. This upgrade seeks to increase the network’s block rate from 1 to 10 blocks per second (BPS).
Recently, the protocol took to X to announce that Testnet 10 (TN10) has fully transitioned to 10 BPS. This milestone is critically important for the blockchain following the Hardfork activation on March 7, 2025.
As per the updates shared by a Kaspa developer Coderofstuff on X, the transition on TN10 which encompasses extensive validation of Initial Block Download (IBD), Post-Pruning Behavior, and Transaction Ordering (via KIP15) has confirmed the correctness of the upgrade’s logic.
Now that the upgrade to 10 BPS has been achieved, Kaspa will work on other different and unique innovations set out in the roadmap shared on X. Within the roadmap is a feature freeze, with the protocol expecting to complete it by March 20. The tweet indicates that the update is 95% complete, with the full mainnet activation aimed for late April/early May 2025. Prior to this, Kaspa is set to finalize the primary Hardfork version by the end of March.
TN10 aims to transform Kaspa into one of the swiftest PoW blockchains with the help of its revolutionary GHOSTDAG protocol that permits the parallel creation and confirmation of blocks. This successful shift establishes a clear agenda for the next milestone, which will be monumental for the platform and its global decentralized blockchain infrastructure.
