Binance taps into the appeal of Ronaldo to launch its first global marketing campaign.
Binance has debuted its first television commercial featuring Cristiano Ronaldo and his new NFT collection. The advertisement comes as Binance launches its first global marketing campaign.
Binance will show the minute-long advertisement on television in 74 countries and 28 languages beginning on Nov. 19. The video is also available through various social media platforms like YouTube. Using the four-time Balon d’Or winner, Binance seeks to grow exposure and catch the wave of the FIFA World Cup, which began Nov. 20.
“We all have a great story to tell,” Ronaldo says in the ad. “One that starts with humble beginnings.”
The new advertisement is a pivot from Binance’s normally low-key approach to advertising and marketing. In a post-FTX crypto world, Binance’s marketing push comes at a time when there is plenty of market share to swallow up.
Using a superstar like Ronaldo on the cusp of the World Cup is a major step as many major crypto companies continue to be lambasted for Super Bowl ads in early 2022. The advertisement's language is similar to those of the Super Bowl, like Crypto.com’s infamous “Fortune Favors the Brave” commercial starring Matt Damon.
“Join me on Binance. To the moon,” Ronaldo concludes in the ad.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s first NFT collection with Binance debuted on Nov. 18 and is available on Binance NFT.
Binance positions itself as the world’s leading blockchain ecosystem and crypto-asset infrastructure provider with a financial product suite that includes the largest digital asset exchange by volume. The Binance platform aims to increase the freedom of money for users and features a comprehensive portfolio of crypto-asset products and offerings, including trading and finance, education, data and research, social good, investment and incubation, decentralization, and infrastructure solutions.
