Winners of the GameFi Category

Core DAO recently commenced its 21 days of Core campaign, revealing the winners of the highly anticipated S-Prize competition in the GameFi and Decentralized Finance (DeFi) categories, across different snapshots.

The competition aimed to recognize and reward the most innovative protocols being developed on the Core blockchain, highlighting the growing importance of the GameFi and DeFi sectors in the blockchain industry.

Like the DeFi category, the winners of the GameFi category received generous cash prizes. The first-place winner was awarded $16,666.67, the second-place winner received $8,333.33, and the third-place winner was granted $3,333.33. Let's look at the outstanding projects that secured these coveted positions.

Energy Crisis Game

Taking the top spot on the Core blockchain, Energy Crisis Game impressed the judges with its engaging gameplay and unique concept. In this GameFi world, players can become successful oil tycoons.

They can acquire oil fields, extract and sell oil, and gradually build their own petroleum empire. With its immersive experience and innovative mechanics, Energy Crisis Game captured the attention of the S-Prize competition.

OmniaVerse Cyborne

Securing second place in the GameFi category, Cyborne is a remarkable addition to the OmniaVerse GameFi ecosystem. This first-person shooter (FPS) game is available on Android, MacOS, and Windows platforms.

What sets Cyborne apart is its integration with blockchain technology, enabling players to earn $BLOCK tokens while enjoying the game. $BLOCK serves as the primary utility token within the OmniaVerse ecosystem, providing users with additional incentives and rewards.

OmniaVerse Dice Game

Claiming the third spot in the GameFi category is another noteworthy project from the OmniaVerse ecosystem. The OmniaVerse Dice Game invites users to engage in thrilling duels with their friends, combining elements of chance and strategy.

By participating in decentralized combat, players can earn $CORE. This innovative game mechanic resonated with the judges and secured its place among the winners. BSC News has an article about the unique game HERE

Improving the Core DAO GameFi Ecosystem

Beyond the top three GameFi winners, the S-Prize competition received applications from an additional 20 projects.

While they did not secure the top positions, these projects demonstrated promising potential and were rewarded with approximately $30,000 as part of the S-Prize initiative. This support encourages continued innovation and development within the GameFi sector on the Core blockchain.

GameFi developers on Core who aspire to be part of future S-Prize competitions and eligible for incentives can sign up for the program on Airtable. This initiative aims to foster a thriving ecosystem of innovative GameFi projects, further solidifying Core's position as a leading blockchain platform for gaming and finance integration.

Conclusion

The winners of the GameFi category in the Core S-Prize competition have showcased the incredible potential and creativity within the GameFi sector.

With projects like Energy Crisis Game, and OmniaVerse’s Cyborne and Dice Game pushing the boundaries of blockchain gaming, it is evident that GameFi is poised for significant growth and adoption.
