$SLP emissions have been added to Axie Infinity: Origin and were removed from Classic.
Origin Season 0
Axie Infinity, a PlayAndEarn blockchain game built on Ethereum sidechain Ronin, has entered into its next transitory phase with Axie Infinity: Origin season 0.
In a tweet on Aug. 12, the popular card game, which is currently in the middle of its summer breeding event and art contest, announced the milestone event that the community has been waiting for. Phase 3 transfers the transmission of $SLP from Classic to Origin as the team slowly migrates the community to the new game mode.
“Season 0 is an important step for Axie Infinity as we fully transition into the new game, Axie Origin,” Axie Infinity PH lead, Nix Eniego, told BSCNews. “The community can expect more developments in the future as all focus will be on making Origin super awesome. Personally, I’m most excited to see old players from v2 transitioning into Origin and seeing them thrive in this new environment. I also want to see new players who maybe have never tried Axie before but can now easily go and play with the introduction of Free Starter Axies!”
Though $SLP will start emitting through Origin, players can only mint the utility token after the season ends. At the moment, $SLP’s use inside the game is to mint NFT Runes and Charms, special game assets that players can attach to their Axies for an added advantage. Players can deposit $SLP to their accounts, but will have to wait till the end of Season 0 before they can withdraw any $SLP. The team also upgraded its marketplace to allow for the trading of these new NFTs on the secondary market.
“I’m looking forward to many hours of fun,” the game’s creator of the month, ZioAxie, told BSCNews. “They have created a new need to play by introducing an amazing progress system that gives you more opportunities to build better NFTs. I'm very excited to play and win more, including the peace of mind knowing that the SLP will have a better balance between burning and production.”
NFT Runes and Charms also require $3 worth of $AXS per Rune or Charm to mint on the blockchain. The team has also set a minimum of seven days’ wait time during season 0 before players can mint newly crafted Runes or Charms. Once on the blockchain, players can freely sell, trade, or gift these NFTs to other members of the community.
The team also adjusted its rewards system for Moon Shards, increasing rewards for arena wins while decreasing rewards from adventure mode, foraging box, and account level-up. Sky Mavis also decided to reward the top 20,000 players on their leaderboard with $AXS, doubling the awardees from its Alpha season.
Crafting recipes have also been tweaked wherein utility items, like moonstones and moon dusts, can’t be crafted through the system. Instead, these items are obtained by advancing through the game.
“Origin will keep improving as we build and work with the community,” Eniego said. “There will be more surprises down the line for sure, as Axie Origin evolves even more and new elements are introduced within the game. Fun times ahead!”

Binance Executive Tigran Gambaryan Sues Nigeria's NSA and EFCC
The lawsuit reflects escalating tensions amidst allegations of innocence and regulatory scrutiny surrounding Binance Nigeria's alleged involvement in illicit financial activities.
The detained executive of Binance, Mr. Tigran Gambaryan, has taken legal action against Nigeria's National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Gambaryan, along with the firm's Africa Regional Manager, Mr. Nadeem Anjarwalla, filed a fundamental human rights violation suit amidst ongoing legal turmoil.
Gambaryan's legal challenge, initiated alongside his lawyer Mr. Olujoke Aliyu, aims to address his prolonged detention by the federal government. The suit, presented before Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja, challenges the legality of Gambaryan's continued confinement and the seizure of his international travel passport.
Gambaryan, a US citizen overseeing financial crime compliance at Binance, contends that his detention and passport seizure violates Section 35 (1) and (4) of Nigeria's 1999 Constitution. His legal team seeks various reliefs, including his release from custody, the return of his passport, a public apology from the NSA and EFCC, and an injunction against future investigations.
Allegations of Innocence Amidst Legal Turmoil
Gambaryan and his colleague's legal representatives maintain their innocence, claiming that the arrests occurred during discussions with Nigerian authorities regarding legal conflicts involving Binance.
In a dramatic turn of events, Binance's African regional manager, Nadeem Anjarwalla, recently fled Nigerian custody. Anjarwalla's escape follows mounting tensions surrounding the Nigerian authorities' investigation into alleged illicit financial activities involving Binance Nigeria, totaling a staggering $26 billion.
