Meet The New Xrp Ledger Foundation Team

The XRP Ledger Foundation (@XRPLF) has officially unveiled a new core leadership team, signalling a renewed push to accelerate both the strategic and technical development of the XRP Ledger ($XRP).

New Faces at the Top

Brett Mollin steps in as Executive Director, taking on responsibility for global strategic direction. A veteran developer with over 11 years of experience building on the XRP Ledger, Mollin will work on enhancing scalability and developing infrastructure for institutional adoption. He most recently served as Technical Director at Ripple, where he worked closely with developers and institutions launching projects on the ledger.

Denis Angell joins as Chief Technology Officer, where he will lead protocol standards and oversee codebase contributions, bringing dedicated technical oversight to the Foundation's open-source work.

On the operations side, Rene Huijsen takes over as Director of Operations. Huijsen brings notable institutional credentials to the role: he represented Ripple on a Bank for International Settlements (BIS) task force that included major financial players such as Mastercard, CIPS, SWIFT, and CLS. His background bridges both traditional finance and the digital asset space, a combination the Foundation will look to leverage as the XRP Ledger courts greater institutional participation.

Rounding out the new team is Vet (Hussein Zangana), who joins as Director of Community. His mandate covers ecosystem storytelling and validator engagement, two areas that are central to maintaining the decentralised character of the network.

What It Means for the XRP Ledger

The XRPLF operates under a nonprofit governance structure, with its Board of Directors overseeing strategic direction and executive appointments. As Executive Director, Mollin will focus on strengthening the operational readiness of the XRP Ledger, including supporting audit-ready infrastructure practices and collaborating on scalability initiatives designed to support future spikes in transaction demand.

The breadth of experience represented across the new team, spanning open-source development, institutional payments, and community building, suggests the Foundation is positioning itself for a more active role as the XRP Ledger continues to evolve.
