Xaman Wallet Teases Cheap Swapping On Xrp Ledger

Xaman Wallet is set to roll out smart order routing on the XRP Ledger, promising lower slippage and cheaper swaps for all native XRPL assets, according to the project's COO.

Xaman Wallet Teases Cheap Swapping On Xrp Ledger

@XamanWallet is preparing to launch a new high-efficiency swapping engine on the $XRP Ledger, with the team promising cheaper trades and less friction for users of native XRPL assets.

The announcement came from @XamanWallet COO @Robertkiuru, who confirmed that the upcoming update will introduce smart order routing designed to extract maximum value from the ledger's existing infrastructure. "Swapping on the XRPL is about to get cheaper and more efficient," the team said, describing it as "smart order routing that leverages the best parts of the existing technology to the max," coming to every Xaman user "very soon."

How It Works

The XRPL has the technical underpinning to support this kind of routing. The AMM is integrated with the central limit order book DEX and enables price optimization to determine whether swapping within a liquidity pool, through the order book, or both, provides the best rate, ensuring transactions can automatically use the most efficient path for trades and optimizing for the best possible exchange rates. Xaman's new engine is built to sit on top of these native features, routing each swap through whichever path offers the tightest rate at the time of execution.

The wallet already connects to XRPL's decentralized exchange, so users can swap XRP and other XRPL tokens without using centralized platforms. The smart order routing layer is set to sharpen that experience further, specifically targeting slippage reduction across all native assets. Xaman does not charge fees for deposits or withdrawals, and like all non-custodial wallets the only mandatory cost for sending transactions is the XRP Ledger network fee, which on XRPL is extremely low, typically a fraction of a cent per transaction.

Why Liquidity Matters for XRPL Right Now

The timing of the upgrade is notable. XRPL has been working to deepen its on-chain liquidity after a period of relatively thin DEX activity. The XRP Ledger is seeing steady growth following recent upgrades, but a major gap remains. The XRP ecosystem still needs to improve the depth of its liquidity to match more established DeFi platforms, and while trading volumes continue to grow, many pools do not yet have enough capital to support larger-scale activity.

Xaman's new routing engine could play a meaningful role in closing that gap. The XRP Ledger settles transactions in 3 to 5 seconds, which means a well-optimised routing layer can operate at speed without the latency constraints that affect slower chains. If the update delivers the cost efficiency the team is promising, it could make the XRPL's native DEX a more compelling venue for retail swap activity, directing more volume on-chain rather than toward centralised alternatives.

No specific release date has been confirmed beyond the team's indication that the rollout is coming soon.
