Robinhood Chain Memecoin Tendies Drops After Explosive Weekly Surge
Robinhood Chain memecoin Tendies ($TENDIES) has fallen 30% in 24 hours after surging 270% over the prior week, driven by community hype and social media momentum on the newly launched Layer 2 network.
Sharp Reversal After a Week of Gains
Tendies ($TENDIES), a memecoin trading on @RobinhoodCrypto's newly launched blockchain, has dropped 30% in the past 24 hours after rallying roughly 270% across the prior seven days. The token carries a market cap of around $12 million at the time of writing, according to @BSCNews. The pullback follows a pattern common to attention-driven tokens: a rapid run-up fueled by community price targets and social media momentum, then a swift correction once buying pressure fades.
The coin sits firmly in the memecoin category, with no utility claim beyond being a meme, meaning its entire value case rests on attention. Attention-driven rallies also unwind fast, and chart conditions had already shown overheated signals ahead of the decline.
The Robinhood Chain Backdrop
Robinhood launched the public mainnet for Robinhood Chain on July 1, 2026, bringing tokenized stock trading live in more than 120 countries and introducing Robinhood Earn, a decentralized lending product offering an estimated 7% yield on USDG. The network is an Arbitrum-based Layer 2 built primarily for tokenized real-world assets. Despite that focus, memecoins quickly became the dominant source of on-chain activity.
Robinhood Chain's memecoin frenzy accelerated after CEO Vlad Tenev said the network "works great for memes too," and the week-old network logged a record $563.9 million in daily DEX volume on July 8. Tendies was among the tokens that benefited directly from that wave of attention. The community organizes around WallStreetBets slang and a dedicated Discord, giving the token a ready-made culture that helped amplify early trading interest.
Most new tokens on the chain die within hours, so live liquidity remains the key dividing line between genuine contenders and exit scams. Tendies has so far maintained a presence on DEX markets, though thin liquidity means price swings in either direction can be severe. Traders should weigh that volatility carefully before taking a position.
