Ripple takes a stake in Notabene to push RLUSD into compliance rails
Ripple has made a strategic investment in Notabene, integrating its RLUSD stablecoin into the firm's B2B payments platform to meet Travel Rule and institutional compliance requirements across 100-plus jurisdictions.
Ripple backs Notabene to bring RLUSD into regulated payment flows
@Ripple has made a strategic investment in @notabene_id, the compliance network that operates what it describes as the world's largest open network for regulated on-chain transactions. Ripple has made a strategic investment in Notabene, the New York-based company behind the largest open network for Travel Rule compliant crypto transactions, with the investment amount undisclosed.
The two companies will collaborate to integrate Ripple USD ($RLUSD) into Notabene Flow, a B2B stablecoin payments platform the company launched earlier this year. Notabene Flow enables payment coordination and authorization capabilities built on top of Notabene's scaled transaction authorization network. Notabene is also exploring how its pre-transaction authorization capabilities could complement Ripple Payments.
Notabene's institutional network today facilitates over $2 trillion in annualized transaction volume. The Notabene network connects thousands of trusted counterparties across more than 100 jurisdictions. Notabene built its business on Travel Rule compliance, providing the messaging infrastructure that allows crypto exchanges, custodians and banks to exchange counterparty information before settling on-chain transactions.
Jack McDonald ($RLUSD_JackMcDonald_), SVP of Stablecoin at Ripple, framed the rationale plainly: "Stablecoins are quickly becoming part of mainstream financial infrastructure, but institutional adoption depends on more than efficient settlement rails alone. It requires trusted identity, compliance, and transaction authorization before value moves."

The investment reflects growing demand for regulated infrastructure as financial institutions increasingly incorporate stablecoins into payment, treasury and settlement operations, with banks and payment providers seeking infrastructure that supports identity verification, compliance and transaction authorization without adding operational complexity.
Under the agreement, Ripple's enterprise payments ecosystem and $RLUSD will be combined with Notabene's institutional trust network to expand compliant stablecoin transactions, with both companies expecting the integration to make enterprise stablecoin payments easier for banks, fintechs, custodians and other financial institutions to deploy at scale.
The deal landed on the same day as Ripple Mint's launch, a timing that underlines how Ripple is assembling a complete infrastructure layer around its stablecoin, spanning issuance tooling through to compliant institutional delivery. Ripple introduced $RLUSD with a focus on compliance, transparency and enterprise integration, positioning it as a settlement asset that can support treasury operations, liquidity management, cross-border transactions and tokenized financial products.
