Pi2Day is here, and 60 million Pioneers are watching for what drops
Pi Network's annual Pi2Day event lands on June 28, 2026, with the Vibe Coder campaign and SLICE Launchpad testnet token both closing today as 60 million Pioneers await ecosystem announcements from @PiCoreTeam.

Pi Network's annual Pi2Day event has arrived, and its community of more than 60 million Pioneers is waiting to see what @PiCoreTeam delivers. Pi2Day occurs every June 28, a date that symbolises the mathematical constant 2π. The Pi Core Team has positioned the date as a recurring milestone for ecosystem releases and tooling, noting that last year's edition delivered Pi App Studio, AI-era positioning, ecosystem directory staking, and node and ranking upgrades.
Two Campaigns Close Today
Running up to today's event, @PiCoreTeam has kept its community active through two separate initiatives, both expiring on June 28.
The first is the Vibe Coder campaign. Through it, users are encouraged to introduce developers and AI creators to Pi App Studio and its growing user base, highlighting tools such as built-in payments, advertising, and identity features. Posts can point vibe coders to Pi App Studio and explain how easily externally created apps can connect with Pi, which offers access to more than 60 million engaged users and infrastructure with built-in payments, identity, and ads. Participants who submit eligible contributions can enter a raffle for Pi Network merchandise.
The second initiative is the SLICE testnet token on Pi Launchpad. SLICE is the second testnet token released to test improvements to the Launchpad, including updates to the user interface, user experience, and the Launchpad mechanism. Unlike the first test, SLICE is connected to a real working app, Slice of Pi, enabling Pi to collect genuine engagement data ahead of a Mainnet version. A new Fair-Access Hold mechanism scales the required hold proportionally with commitment size, preventing whale dominance and giving smaller Pioneers a fairer allocation opportunity. SLICE is a testnet token and will never go onto Mainnet.
During the first Launchpad test token, over 478,000 Pioneers staked a total of 36.05 million Test-Pi, while over 198,000 Pioneers committed 14.72 million Test-Pi toward token acquisition. The SLICE test is designed to build on that base with a simpler, single-screen flow.
What Pioneers Are Watching For
For several weeks, Pioneers have debated whether the Core Team is preparing to roll out significant updates on Pi2Day, with some floating the idea of a potential Binance listing. This year's focus on apps, nodes, and tools suggests further utility and infrastructure improvements, though the realized impact will hinge on how compelling the new features are and whether they translate into measurable on-chain or user metrics.
Some community members said they are excited about Pi2Day and look forward to potential updates, while others stressed that the migration to mainnet and KYC procedures remain hurdles that need to be addressed as a priority. PI is currently trading around $0.127, representing a steep decline from its historic peak of $3 witnessed in February 2025.
