$NEAR, $PENGU, $OPG, $HYPE, & $GRASS Spearhead Today's Trending List

Altcoins are pushing higher across the board, and a handful of names are drawing the most attention. According to data from @Coingecko, five assets in particular are leading today's trending list, each backed by meaningful price moves and growing market interest.

The Top Five Trending Assets

$NEAR (Near Protocol, @NEARProtocol) is the standout performer, posting a 45% surge over the past seven days. Near Protocol positions itself as a high-performance, AI-native platform built to power the next generation of decentralized applications and intelligent agents.

$PENGU (Pudgy Penguins, @pudgypenguins) has added roughly 7% over the same window. PENGU is the token connected to the Pudgy Penguins ecosystem, one of the most recognizable NFT and community brands in crypto, and unlike many short-lived memecoins, it benefits from a pre-existing brand, a large community, and strong cultural recognition across Web3.

$OPG (Open Gradient, @OpenGradient) is up 17% in 24 hours, reflecting a sharp burst of intraday buying interest in the project.

$HYPE (HyperLiquid, @HyperliquidX) has posted a notable weekly surge. HYPE hit a new all-time high near $63 before a pullback, with analysts flagging overheated indicators. On the protocol side, the HIP-4 upgrade, which introduced permissionless prediction markets and options-style derivatives, went live on May 5, 2026.

$GRASS (@Grass) rounds out the top five with a 35% gain over seven days. A major exchange listing on OKX in late April boosted access, enhancing liquidity and legitimacy for the DePIN token.

Other Names in Focus

Beyond the top five, $GENIUS, $SUI, and $ZEC are also appearing on CoinGecko's trending tracker, indicating broad-based momentum across different corners of the market. Hyperliquid, Pudgy Penguins, and Grass rank as the top three most searched trending cryptos on CoinGecko right now. The wider backdrop remains constructive, with the global cryptocurrency market cap sitting at $2.67 trillion.
