Layerzero Co-Founder And Ceo Shares Update On Response To Rseth Bridge Incident

@LayerZero_Core co-founder and CEO Bryan Pellegrino (@PrimordialAA) has posted an operational update on the company's response to the April 18 $rsETH bridge exploit that drained $292 million from Kelp DAO in what stands as the largest DeFi hack of 2026 so far.

Pellegrino confirmed that the DVN is now live and that Stargate, LayerZero's flagship cross-chain bridge, has completed an additional hardening pass following the incident. He said the team is "spending 100% of cycles hardening security across every possible vector for applications," describing it as the number one priority across the board.

LayerZero said it is cooperating with an industry recovery group, external security researchers, and relevant law enforcement agencies as the investigation continues. With the initial phase of the inquiry largely wrapped up, Pellegrino said more steady-state updates should follow in the coming days.

The company has attributed the attack with preliminary confidence to North Korea's Lazarus Group and its TraderTraitor subunit. Lazarus Group has been linked to a string of high-profile crypto thefts in recent years, including the $1.5 billion Bybit hack in February 2025, according to blockchain analytics firm Elliptic.
