Kalshi is set to become an official prediction market partner of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, giving the CFTC-regulated platform prominent pitch-side branding and access to one of the world's largest sporting audiences.

Kalshi Secures Official Partnership with FIFA

A Landmark Moment for Regulated Prediction Markets

@Kalshi is set to announce official partner status with FIFA for the 2026 World Cup, according to reporting by The New York Times DealBook. The deal would mark a significant milestone for the regulated prediction market sector, giving the platform prominent branding visibility during one of the most-watched sporting events on the planet.

The partnership would give the U.S.-based prediction market platform prominent branding visibility during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including advertisements surrounding the pitch at matches and exposure across television and digital broadcasts. The 2026 edition is the largest World Cup ever staged, with 48 teams and games spread across 16 venues in North America, and global viewership is expected to reach hundreds of millions per match.

Kalshi is a federally regulated exchange overseen by the CFTC, the same body that regulates major U.S. financial markets, where people trade on the outcomes of real-world events. Unlike a sportsbook, prices on Kalshi are set by real people trading against each other, not by a house. The platform is legal across all 50 states.

Volume and Momentum Behind the Deal

The platform has seen explosive growth, particularly in sports and major events, recording over $112 billion in volume recently, with monthly volumes reaching tens of billions of dollars in 2026. A Bank of America note estimated that Kalshi will have $12 billion to $13 billion in total volume by the time the tournament ends.

The deal builds on Kalshi's existing momentum in soccer. The company has recently announced partnerships with national federations, including the Argentina Football Association (AFA), the reigning World Cup champions, and the Croatian Football Federation, featuring ambassador Luka Modrić. The platform has also secured partnerships in entertainment and sports venues, including Madison Square Garden, and works with data providers like Sportradar.

The 2026 tournament marks the first time many U.S. users can legally trade on every match outcome through a federally regulated platform, rather than through offshore or state-regulated sportsbooks. For fans, that means access to yes-or-no contracts spanning match results, group standings, player performance, and tournament milestones, all on a platform where positions can be entered or exited at any time before an event resolves.
