Jimothy Memecoin Retreats After Explosive Run, Can The Rally Return?
Solana memecoin Jimothy dropped 28% in 24 hours after a viral run fueled by White House attention. The token sits 49% below its all-time high, with a $22.6 million market cap and no fresh catalyst in sight.
The Solana-based memecoin Jimothy has pulled back sharply after one of the more unusual rallies in recent crypto memory, with the token sliding 28% in 24 hours as early buyers locked in profits. The token remains 49% below its all-time high of $0.04489, even as it still trades more than 5,300% above its record low.
From Viral Raccoon to Multimillion-Dollar Token
The Jimothy memecoin is a Solana-based token inspired by a Seattle raccoon with a rare congenital disorder that gained viral attention. Seattle resident Kiana Hall filmed the raccoon near a Ballard neighborhood Goodwill, and Marcie Logsdon, an associate professor at Washington State University's Veterinary Teaching Hospital, said the raccoon likely has short spine syndrome, a rare congenital condition that shortens the spine and limits mobility. The clip spread quickly across social media, and traders moved fast. JIMOTHY launched via Pumpfun on July 16, 2026, named after the viral Seattle raccoon.
The token surged 52x in 24 hours on July 18, briefly reaching a $22 million market cap before retreating, with trading volume near $30 million. The rally then received a second wind from an unexpected source. A Solana-based memecoin linked to the Seattle raccoon surged roughly 60% in 24 hours after the official White House account posted about the animal on social media. The reference from such a high-profile account drove significant retail interest and trading volume.
Small Float, Big Questions
With a market capitalization of around $22.6 million, the token's relatively small float means fresh buying interest could quickly revive momentum. JIMOTHY offers no decentralized application, protocol, or staking ecosystem; its value rests almost entirely on community participation, social-media engagement, and speculative trading.
Tokens built on viral animal moments rarely hold their gains once the news cycle fades. Without another catalyst comparable to the White House mention, the correction could deepen as traders continue to exit positions. Whether the rally resumes will depend far less on project fundamentals than on sustained community engagement, trading volume, and broader sentiment across Solana's meme-coin ecosystem.
