Axie Infinity pulls the plug on Homeland
Axie Infinity shuts down Homeland rewards and replaces the game with Terrariums on June 17, introducing pool-based bAXS earnings and a new land gameplay system for AXS holders.

@AxieInfinity has officially wound down Homeland rewards, with the game itself set to go dark on June 17, 2026. Players have until June 17 at 3PM Philippine Time to claim any remaining rewards before the platform closes for good.
Terrariums Takes Over on June 17
Terrariums, the new land-based gameplay system, launches the same day as Homeland's closure, replacing it as the primary land experience and emitting $bAXS (bonded AXS) rewards. V1 turns land into a living home for axies, where the world ticks forward and earns on its own every hour.
The core mechanic is the hourly Tick: every hour, land consumes Lunium, earns $bAXS, and keeps moving in the background. Lunium is a new off-chain resource, non-tradable, that powers land plots and enables bAXS earnings. Rewards scale with land tier and axie power (called Atia's Flame), and the rarer the axies and the higher the plot, the bigger the share of the bAXS pool.
The new system also removes the fixed earning caps that existed under Homeland. An active, well-built plot can now earn more than the old fixed cap ever allowed, since earnings rise and fall with how many axies are active in a given category and how well players optimise their setup.
Delegation Contracts and a Clean Slate
Players do not need to manually revoke land delegation contracts. All delegation contracts will be automatically revoked and withdrawn when Homeland sunsets on June 17, 2026.
Homeland progression will not carry over to Terrariums, as the team wants to give players a fresh start for the new experience. Sky Mavis has described Terrariums as "the first honest step" toward the full 2019 land vision, rather than its completion.
On the token side, AXS will serve as a reserve currency for bAXS. Converting AXS to bAXS is fixed at 1:1, while converting bAXS back to AXS follows a variable rate tied to each player's Axie Score Designation, with higher scores receiving a more favourable rate. bAXS cannot be transferred between wallets, and is bonded to the account that earned it.
