Bitcoin Depot Hit By $3.7m Btc Theft
Bitcoin ATM operator Bitcoin Depot has reported a $3.7 million theft following a security breach, in a recent SEC filing.
The Nasdaq-listed firm detected unauthorized IT system access on March 23. Attackers gained control of credentials tied to crypto settlement accounts.
A total of 50.9 $BTC was drained from company wallets.
The firm has engaged cybersecurity experts and notified law enforcement. A third-party investigation into the breach is now underway.
The firm confirmed that the attack didn't affect customer platforms or data.
