The organization plans to upgrade its core products to align with ZKsync’s technology, which advocates believe is better suited for achieving their long-term goals.

Treasure DAO, the native decentralized gaming ecosystem, overwhelmingly voted to migrate from the Arbitrum blockchain to the ZKsync ecosystem.

On Monday, Treasure DAO shared the results of a community vote that showed 99.5% in favor of moving to the ZKsync ecosystem.

The proposal, launched on September 17, outlines plans to launch Treasure's layer two (L2) solution using ZKsync’s advanced technology stack. Treasure DAO stated, “Treasure will be bringing the decentralized game console to the Elastic Chain.”

This transition aims to leverage ZKsync's zero-knowledge (ZK) technology, which is better suited for the goals of decentralized gaming, according to the DAO. The organization is eager to explore the potential of ZKsync to support mass adoption.

New Developments on the Horizon

To facilitate this migration, Treasure DAO is working on launching a public testnet named "Topaz." This testnet will allow developers and players to start exploring and building within the new ecosystem.

Treasure plans to launch the mainnet within the next 1.5 to 2 months, offering a timeline that reflects their proactive approach to this transition.

As part of this migration, Treasure's core products will be upgraded to integrate with ZKsync’s technology. This includes enhancements to their app, marketplace, and MagicSwap, as well as their universal accounts system, Treasure Connect. The DAO is reportedly collaborating with over ten games, both existing and unannounced, to ensure a seamless transition.

Why ZKsync?

Per reports, the proposal followed extensive internal discussions, reflecting the organization’s long-term vision. Core contributors acknowledge the complexity of this choice, given their established relationship with Arbitrum.

However, advocates of the migration argue that ZKsync is more in line with Treasure’s goals. Co-founder Karel Vuong noted that as they developed their L2 solution, it became clear that ZKsync’s technology better supports the mission to create a decentralized gaming ecosystem capable of mass adoption.

The focus on ZKsync's zero-knowledge technology aims to provide improved security and scalability, essential components for a thriving gaming environment, per Treasure DAO.

In the coming weeks, Treasure DAO plans to host community calls and discussions to explore deeper into the transition.
