Lawyers of Ripple leadership figures have alerted the court that said figures will be unavailable through April 1 to April 14, 2024 - dates that happen to coincide with the build-up to next year’s Bitcoin Halving…
The legal representation for Ripple executives, Brad Garlinghouse (CEO) and Chris Larsen (Executive Chairman), have notified the court via filing that the pair will be unavailable for the period spanning April 1 to April 14, 2024.
The filing is being viewed as a response to the court order for final pretrial schedule, for which Garlinghouse and Larsen claim they will be unavailable.
Though the filing does not make clear the definite reasons for the pair’s absence, it has not escaped pundits’ notice that the specified dates coincide with the build-up to 2024’s expected Bitcoin Halving event - an event that occurs every four years and sees the BTC available to mine reduced by 50%.
Though there is no definitive date for the event, some countdown clocks are showing April 15 as the expected date, with others showing slightly later in the month of April.
Precisely why the aforementioned Ripple leadership would necessarily be unavailable in the build-up to the Bitcoin Halving is also unclear. However, such events have historically triggered significant price movement in the cryptocurrency markets.
