Raylights Brings ‘Chill’ Mode to Axie Infinity

Raylights is the first mini-game for the popular PlayAndEarn blockchain game, Axie Infinity, that gives playable utility to community land owners.

Developed by Finnish game devs Quicksave Interactive, the mini-game is a land cultivation game set at the dawn of Lunacia, a time when Axies are still discovering farming and growing techniques. First mentioned during AxieCon, Raylights is open to all Lunacian land owners and takes a more casual approach compared to Axie Infinity: Origins.

“The game is relaxing and a nice break from the competitive nature of Origins. The music and overall design reminds me of old planting mini-games from Legend of Mana,” Friede, a Lunacian landowner, told BSC News.

When the game is opened, a random set of Axies are shown roaming around the land plot. Players need to figure out the correct combination of minerals in the nursery to get a plant instead of a weed -- ultimately progressing through the game and unlocking all 10 minerals and six soil layers.

Sky Mavis also announced two contests that will run until 4:30 a.m. UTC Oct. 15.

Through the new Raylights Discord channel, the community is collaborating to discover the recipes. A community-maintained document has been created to keep track of what has been crafted so far.

What Is Axie Infinity:

Axie Infinity is a PlayAndEarn blockchain game where players breed, collect, and play with digital pets called Axies and earn from the interactions. It’s built on Ronin, an Ethereum-based side-chain developed by Vietnamese-based gaming studio Sky Mavis. The protocol put eyes on the PlayAndEarn gaming industry back in 2021. In addition, the team is building a digital nation where each community member comes together to play, earn, and live in Lunacia.
