147 graduates have already secured employment within the IT sector, following the completion of the Binance-powered IT Generation initiative.
Binance, in collaboration with Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation, earlier introduced the game-changing IT Generation program, as part of the Binance Scholar Program. This visionary initiative, powered by a generous $1 million USDT donation from Binance Charity, provided full scholarships to over 2,000 Ukrainians of various ages and backgrounds, especially during challenging times.
Through the IT Generation project, 2,200 students were impacted, with an impressive 1,877 of them successfully completing their studies. Launched in June 2022, the program was designed to support individuals affected by job loss due to the ongoing war by facilitating their retraining and re-entry into the job market in Ukraine.
Binance Charity's commitment to education and innovation led to the provision of 1 million USDT for scholarships. Leveraging cutting-edge BNB Chain and Binance Pay technology, scholarship funds were seamlessly transferred to students' crypto wallets upon course registration.
This ambitious endeavor garnered support from prominent programs such as the USAID Competitive Economy of Ukraine Program and the "Digital, Inclusive, Accessible: Supporting Digitization of Public Services in Ukraine" project. Backed by USAID and executed by the UNDP in Ukraine with support from Sweden, these programs contributed valuable resources and expertise to achieve the project's goals.
Kyrylo Khomyakov, Binance's General Manager in Ukraine, expressed pride in the project's impact, highlighting its significance in supporting those affected by conflict and its role in propelling Ukraine's digital economy using cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
The nine-month project, spanning from September 2022 to July 2023, has already yielded impressive results, with 147 IT Generation graduates securing employment within the IT sector, many finding roles in project and product management, HR, and as JavaScript developers.
The IT Generation initiative, championed by Deputy Minister Oleksandr Borniakov, has been a significant milestone in fostering a successful career path for talented Ukrainians in the thriving technology industry.
By unlocking educational opportunities, IT Generation has not only improved the lives of participants but also contributed to the growth and development of communities, even in times of crisis. The Ministry of Digital Transformation is committed to continuing its efforts to empower citizens and enhance their job prospects for a prosperous future.
