The 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, has just now been confirmed as a speaker at the official Bitcoin 2024 Conference, scheduled for later this month.

Trump’s speech, meanwhile, is scheduled for July 27th at 2pm Central Time at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee, where the event itself is taking place, and will last for 30 minutes.

A release shared directly with BSCN, confirming Trump’s appearance, offers little insight into exactly what the former-President is planning to discuss.

According to David Bailey, CEO of BTC Inc (the organizer of The Bitcoin Conference)...

“Today’s announcement that the former and future President of the United States will be addressing the global Bitcoin community is recognition of Bitcoin’s adoption and progress towards that original vision. This will be the most consequential political event in Bitcoin’s history and a defining cultural moment for our society" 

The Biggest Bitcoin Announcement of 2024?

Trump has so-far been outspoken in his support of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, likely driven by the ~50 million Bitcoin adopters in the United States and their potential to secure him another term in office. 

He has promised to prevent the Federal Reserve from creating a central bank digital currency (CBDC) over fears of government surveillance and lack of citizen privacy.

He has also pledged to ensure the future of BTC remains in the United States, ensuring that the sector is not pushed overseas - Something that Biden’s regime is seen to have done.

Let’s also not forget that Trump has not only launched his own NFT collection(s), but even hosted a private event for major holders of said collection(s).

But this announcement is an even bigger deal…

Aside from Trump’s NFT-related matters, all of Trump’s crypto announcements have come in a web2 setting. That is, despite his support, Trump has made no efforts to directly involve himself in the cryptocurrency community directly.

In appearing at the Bitcoin 2024 Conference, Trump is making efforts to directly immerse himself amongst so-called ‘crypto-natives’. 

Only the most engaged community members are likely to attend the conference, and that is precisely who Trump will be addressing.

Trump’s speech will very likely center around Bitcoin itself, rather than mentioning it as an aside, meaning he may well reveal more detailed policy-pledges in order to appease the demographic.
