The Bitcoin Conference and Trump's team are reportedly working closely with security officials to ensure the safety of the event.

Former United States President Donald Trump will deliver his keynote address at the Bitcoin 2024 Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, despite surviving an assassination attempt on July 13 in Pennsylvania. David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine and one of the event's organizers, confirmed Trump's plans.

“He is in good spirits and is excited to see you all in Nashville and deliver a speech that is heard around the world.,” Bailey said.

Trump had initially committed to speaking at the conference, set for July 25-27, and speculation over his participation arose after the attack during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The Bitcoin Conference confirmed Trump's decision on Sunday.

"We are proud to host him and to share the solidarity of the global Bitcoin community and our universal commitment to free speech and peaceful democracy," the conference announced online.

Organizers are working closely with security teams and Trump’s secret service to ensure safety at the event.

On July 13, Trump survived a brazen assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. A 20-year-old gunman, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, opened fire, injuring Trump's right ear and tragically killing a spectator. The FBI is investigating the incident as an act of domestic terror.

Impact on Bitcoin and Market Reactions

Following the assassination attempt, Bitcoin saw a notable surge. Bitcoin (BTC) rose by 5% to reach $63,000 since the weekend attack. This boost is attributed to Trump's pro-crypto stance and the perception that his presidency would be favorable for the cryptocurrency industry. Trump-themed Polifi tokens also saw a rise in value.

Market analyst Tony Sycamore from IG commented:

“Trump's pro-crypto stance and the odds of his reelection galvanizing after the shooting have given a significant boost to crypto markets, with Bitcoin standing out.”

During a fundraiser in San Francisco in June, Trump presented himself as a champion for cryptocurrency. Although he hasn’t detailed his proposed crypto policy, he has positioned himself against Democratic attempts to regulate the sector.
