A total of 200 sneakers will be released in the first round, featuring Atlético de Madrid’s trophies, stadiums and players.
STEPN has partnered with WhaleFin and Atlético de Madrid to launch a “first-of-its-kind” co-branded Genesis sneaker attributed to the popular football club from Spain.
“We are so excited to be part of this NFT Collection, and this launch is a significant milestone for Amber Group as we continue our work to go beyond digital wealth and into the digital lifestyle and empower Web2 businesses and brands like Atletico de Madrid to transition into Web3,” Annabelle Huang, Managing Partner at Amber Group (Parent Company of WhaleFin) told BSC News.
According to a press release shared with BSC News, the Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collection will feature 1,001 digitally hand-drawn Atlético de Madrid sneakers categorized into Common, Uncommon, and Rare soccer boots, each of which can be used with STEPN on Ethereum.
Specifically, the designs of Common, Uncommon, and Rare soccer boots will showcase the La Liga football club’s trophies, stadiums and players. A total of 200 sneakers will be released as part of the first round of its launch.
“As NFTs gain mainstream popularity, we want to show the utility of these digital assets online and offline, and there is no better way to do this than with STEPN, which is bridging the two worlds,” Huang said.
WhaleFin will offer 180 sneakers, including 160 Common sneakers, 19 Uncommon sneakers, and an exclusive pair of Rare sneakers, while STEPN will airdrop 20 Common sneakers to its users.
STEPN expressed its views regarding the upcoming collection:
STEPN will allow Genesis NFT owners to earn rewards by walking, jogging, and running. Additionally, NFT owners will have access to special benefits from WhaleFin and Atlético de Madrid via the Genesis sneakers. Holders will also have the chance to secure one of 11 exclusive signed jerseys and receive limited WhaleFin NFT airdrop coupons and bonus interest.
Further, Atlético de Madrid and WhaleFin will hold a raffle for NFT owners to win a VIP experience in Madrid for two at the Cívitas Metropolitano.
“Through this launch, we hope more people will recognize the value of digital assets as our team continuously delivers new, innovative touchpoints for communities to migrate into Web3,” Huang said.
Stay tuned as we’ll keep a close eye on the developments of this NFT collection. Learn more about the Genesis NFT sneaker collection attributed to Atlético de Madrid here.
