SHIBA INU HOLDER COUNT CONTINUES TO SURGE
Shiba Inu wallet addresses holding $SHIB have climbed to 1.585 million, adding nearly 22,000 new holders in a single week as memecoin sentiment strengthens.

The number of unique wallet addresses holding a non-zero @shibtoken balance has hit 1.585 million, representing a jump of roughly 22,000 new wallets in the past week alone. The acceleration marks a notable uptick from the pace observed earlier this year, when the Shiba Inu network was adding between 8,500 and 12,000 new wallets per month, according to on-chain data published by @Shibizens, the official account managed by Shibarium administrators.
To put the growth in context, Etherscan recorded approximately 1,573,798 $SHIB holders as of April 22, while the total stood at 1,558,200 as recently as March 25. The latest figure of 1.585 million suggests the rate of adoption has accelerated sharply as broader market sentiment improves.
Retail Interest and On-Chain Signals
The retail sector appears to be driving much of the expansion. CoinCodex data confirms there are now more than 1.5 million wallets on the Ethereum blockchain holding Shiba Inu, though the real number of holders is likely larger since some investors custody their $SHIB entirely on centralised exchanges.
Whale activity has also picked up alongside the retail inflows. BeInCrypto reported that whale wallets added approximately $12 million worth of $SHIB since the start of April, pushing large-holder balances above 773 trillion tokens. At the same time, the amount of $SHIB held on exchanges has declined to around 80.9 trillion tokens — a move widely interpreted as a bullish signal, since supply leaving exchanges tends to indicate reduced short-term selling pressure.
Is Memecoin Season Returning?
The surge in $SHIB holders comes as the wider memecoin sector shows signs of renewed momentum. Coinpedia noted that Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and Pudgy Penguins are all flashing bullish setups, with price action turning active after a prolonged quiet phase. As Bitcoin and Ethereum push higher, capital appears to be rotating back into speculative corners of the market — a pattern that has historically preceded broader memecoin rallies.
Shiba Inu's ecosystem development adds a layer of substance beyond the typical memecoin narrative. The project's Shibarium Layer-2 network has processed over 1.5 billion transactions, and a major privacy upgrade using Fully Homomorphic Encryption technology is slated for Q2 2026. Whether that infrastructure translates into sustained demand remains the key question for $SHIB heading into the second half of the year.
